Villa Egadi

A walled villa held high above the western coast of Sicily, with views to the Egadi islands. The plan is the older Sicilian one — a long house in pale tufa stone, a deep terrace, a separate kitchen wing, and a series of small walled gardens stepped down the slope.

The principal floor sits a level above the entrance courtyard, opening onto a long terrace shaded by an iron pergola of climbing wisteria. The reception rooms are sun-warmed and quiet, paved in original cotto. Bedrooms occupy the floor above and the older tower on the southern corner of the house. Materials throughout are tufa, lime, and oiled chestnut.

The estate runs to a small olive grove and a vineyard worked by a neighbouring family on a long lease. Currently held off-market; introductions placed on the private register only.
