Maison Cerise

A south-facing villa held quietly above the Mediterranean, walled in pale stone and cypress. The principal rooms open onto a single uninterrupted terrace that runs the length of the house. The light here is soft for most of the day and gold at the hour before dinner.

The plan is unhurried — a long entrance hall, a library set apart from the living rooms, a kitchen that gives onto the kitchen garden rather than the sea. Bedrooms are placed on the cooler side of the house, each with a small private loggia. Materials throughout are limestone, lime plaster, oiled oak, and aged bronze.

The grounds extend to a private path down to the water. There is a guest pavilion, a glasshouse, and a covered car court. Available furnished or unfurnished, by private appointment.
